The Village Hall Committee organises a number of social, educationa and recreational activities during the year.
Often the cost of these activities are kept to a minimum to allow as many Parishioners as possible to participate. However, the Village Hall Committee does have to provide adequate funding to repair and maintain the Hall to secure its future. Therefore, in addition to ongoing activities the Village Hall Committee is commited to at least one major fund raising event a year to provide funding for our re-development project. Please click on the "The re-development programme and funding" tab for more information.
Ongoing activities include;
- staging of ArtsReach productions
- Programme of Talks
- Regular Film Nights incorporating Purbeck Film Festival events
- Participation in Connecting Dorset (bringing IT to Village Halls)
One off fund raising activities have included our Auction of Promises in November 2008, Open Gardens in 2009 and a Car Boot Sales is planned for July 2010.
Income generated for the year ending 31 December 2008 amounted to £13,375. This equates to nearly £62 per household. After expenses we have been able to contribute the necessary 10% of funding for the Village Hall re-thatching. Please click on "The re-development programme and funding" tab for more information.
