"Greetings from Australia, I came across your site whilst researching my family tree. I lived in Wimborne for many years with my parents Ivor Hardy and Rose (nee Arnold). My grandparents, George Arnold and Alice Hansford were married in St Laurence's Church in 1913 - picture opposite (bigger version available on request to the website editor) and some of Alice's family were born in Affpuddle. Please keep up the great work on the site - it is lovely to be able to see where our family lived ehen we are do far away from the area.
I have become completely stuck on a William Mitchell who was in the 1901 census in Affpuddle with his wife Catherine and daughter Bessie. I have hunted high and low for his, or any of his family, but am now at a complete loss. Living in Australia nowadays makes it difficult to research and I am unable to visit the Cemetery in case they are buried there. I know there were several Mitchells in the Affpuddle/Briantspuddle area in the 1800's and wondered if anyone in the area was either related or was interested in Genealogy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated: my email address is 2wimpy@gmail.com and my home address is 27 Durham Crescent, Dawesville, Western Australia 6211 (tel 0061(0)895822835)."
