If you know which Broadband connection is right for you, it could:

• save you money
• increase your internet access speed.

Perhaps you are not absolutely sure how Broadband works and what you can expect from it.  Do you know how a broadband package can reduce your telephone bills?  And even if you think you have the right connection, perhaps it is time to review it as packages become better value for money.

As there is so much confusion about these matters, we have contacted Connecting Dorset, a branch of Dorset Community Action (DCA), and they have agreed to help us navigate our way through this mine field in simple non-technical language.

On the afternoon of Thursday 28th January, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, a representative from Connecting Dorset, will give a brief talk on what Broadband is and how it connects with your telephone, and then go on to look at the various packages that are available in the market that might suit your needs.

The session will be held at Briantspuddle Village Hall and both the Village Hall Committee and Connecting Dorset hope that our neighbouring parishioners will join us for what we imagine will be a really practical and informative talk.  All are welcome.

We will also have a PC available that will demonstrate the internet speed that you should be able to achieve locally and a demonstration of a simple application that you can use at home to test the speed you are getting.

There will be plenty of time set aside for Q&A's and there will be a tea break during the session so that you can ask your questions on a one to one basis as well.

The session will cost £1 and this will include tea, coffee and biscuits.
